In accordance with the Australian Vice Chancellors' Committee credit transfer principles, the School of Nursing & Midwifery will grant credit, exemption and studies-in-lieu on the basis of work completed elsewhere. This may include formal studies or professional experience. Prior learning gained through courses provided by universities, professional bodies, enterprises, private educational institutions, and work experience in the health industry may be recognised for the purpose of granting credit or exemption. The School has in place formal credit transfer agreements with TAFE whereby students will gain specified credit. Students must provide an academic record issued by TAFE which documents successful achievement of the TAFE course. Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-registration) Enrolled Nurses with a current Practising Certificate are given credit for a total of 18 points (4 subjects). This is the equivalent of one semester of full-time study. The School of Nursing and Midwifery has produced a booklet that gives specific information on how to apply for credit and exemption.
